But there are some practical ways to approach this dilemma and obtain the job of your dreams. It begins with three simple steps that I am going to share with you today!

But first, think about the type of environment where you will thrive and what you want from your new career. Whenever you are entering a new ‘space,’ it is important to remember your WHY for motivation along the way. Visualizing your dream job is essential to manifesting your career path that will take you there.

So, without further ado, here are three practical tips to help you land your dream career!

Tips To Land Your Dream Job

1. Focus Your Resume & Online Presence

In this modern era and technological world, you want to keep both your paper resume and your online credentials up-to-date. Online profiles, portfolios, professional sites, and LinkedIn accounts are utilized more often than you think. You can choose how you want the world to see you in your new career! If you need help updating your resume and highlighting the right credentials for your dream job, I am here to help

2. Network, Network, Network

We each have our own social circles, and the ability to grow and change those social networks. Get to know your circles a little better, and don’t be afraid to expand your circle to include people that will help you grow. Start connecting with new people via networking events in your industry, online groups, and other events where you can meet new people. And if you feel alone or uncomfortable, remember that there are others there with the same intentions for connection!

3. Internships

I know, internships can be a challenging step, especially when they are unpaid or pay very little. But if you research with intention, you will be able to find some lucrative internships, both in monetary value and experience. Taking on an internship while you are still in education mode can help you gain real world experience and pump up your resume. The key here is to find the right internship that can be a gateway to your career. Meaning, find one that aligns with the industry or position that you desire, and gain as much knowledge as you can along the way. When applying for your dream career, don’t forget to get a letter of recommendation from someone at the internship to help solidify your experience.
